The need for a stair renovation allowed the church to rethink the entire entry sequence and create a new gathering space. Splitting the staircase to the Upper Church allows an opening into a new gathering space, and re-centers the entry to the Lower Chapel. The triple archway provides structural clearance for the new stair and echoes the entry doors and windows. The materials and detailing complement this 1870's church in historic New Castle, Delaware.
