This reconstruction provides a state-of-the-art facility for the volunteer company. Eight apparatus bays flank the central radio room. Glazed stair towers and a skylit atrium lead up to common company areas on the second level. The contemporary façade uses traditional materials and forms, inspired by historic fire houses. The new station will anchor planned redevelopment along the Philadelphia Pike corridor in Claymont. |
