Sacred Heart Village is a HUD financed residential facility for low income elderly. It is located on a portion of the site of the former Sacred Heart parish in Wilmington. The building consists of a new 4-story wing containing 72 one bedroom units. This wing is connected to the former 3-story school which was renovated into 6 residential units. Other spaces provided for the residents include lounges, activity rooms, a laundry, a convenience store, and a beauty parlor. The exterior materials and detailing are sympathetic to the character of the existing Victorian era buildings on the site and the surrounding neighborhood.
