A multi-phased renovation project upgraded the life safety system, provide greater accessibility, and reduce operational costs. Small cell-like rooms were converted into suites for small group living with handicapped accessibility and a less institutionalized feel. The suites were designed with dining rooms, kitchens, leisure spaces and bathrooms, creating a home-like environment which the sisters desired. The facility retains the quite grace and dignity of the original building without displaying the technological means that allowed the much needed renovations to take place.
