In order to extend the life of the building by 30 years, the Brandywine School District requested a complete mechanical and electrical upgrade, related architectural upgrades, code and accessibility upgrades, some program upgrades to suit current teaching methodologies and some exterior repairs. A sprinkler system was also added.
